What we collect: When you opt in to receive campaign text messages, we collect your phone number, first name (if provided), the date and time of your consent, and records confirming that consent was affirmatively given. We do not use pre-checked boxes or any other method that would constitute implied consent.
Why we collect it: Your phone number and consent record are used exclusively to send you campaign updates and donation asks from Michelle Vergara for San Fernando City Council, as described at the time you opted in. We will not use this data for any other purpose without obtaining a new opt-in from you.
Data retention: We retain SMS opt-in data and associated contact information for the duration of the campaign or until you opt out, whichever comes first. Following the conclusion of the campaign or upon receipt of your opt-out request, your mobile messaging data will be securely deleted or permanently anonymized within 30 days.
